💙 Helping people find a reason to stay

Great to meet the Chancellor today to hear about t Great to meet the Chancellor today to hear about the new policies coming into effect this month to tackle the cost of living crisis.I asked her about whether the government has any specific assessment on the impact to mental health (particularly suicide and self harm) of economic policies. There is an increase in suicidal ideation when policies are announced that increase costs (such as with the farm inheritance tax changes). The answer to that question was that they don’t do any specific mental health assessment. An issue that I know @centreformh have pushed to change.I also asked about financial support or further tax exemptions for charities who are seeing increased costs (national insurance increase) and reduced income (less charitable giving due to cost of living crisis). I didn’t get a clear answer to that but will follow up with the team about it.All in all some good policy announcements that will help. @abigailrosefoster and @sarahtucker_official will give you much better run down of what that means for you if you want to have a look at her page!Thank you to the Chancellor and Treasury team for having me there!
💙 In order to print the flag with names in time fo 💙 In order to print the flag with names in time for the marathon, I can no longer print any new names onto the flag. This will not be the last time there’s an opportunity to include your loved one as a dedication for Reasons to Stay. Even though they might not be on the flag, they are very much with all of us in our work to give other people a reason to stay 💙I’m running the @londonmarathon for Reasons to Stay 🥹💙Over the last two months, tens of thousands of you have sent me messages about the people you’ve lost to suicide, and how special this project is for you. I want to use this moment to dedicate Reasons to Stay to all of your loved ones that have been lost to suicide. If you’ve lost a loved one to suicide, I would be honoured to dedicate Reasons to Stay to them. All you need to do is comment with their name and I’ll export all the names in the comments and include them on the flag.FOR THOSE WE LOST ALONG THE WAY WE DEDICATE THESE REASONS TO STAY 💙I’m also raising money for @giveusashoutinsta who are there for people in their worst moments via text and save lives every day. If you can spare any amount, you can donate to my fundraiser through the link in my bio 💙
