Accessibility Statement
Reasons to Stay - Accessibility Statement
We want everyone to be able to use Reasons to Stay. This statement explains what we do to support accessibility, what standards we aim for, and how to report issues.
Our Commitment
Reasons to Stay is a suicide prevention and wellbeing project. We know that people may visit this site when they are tired, stressed, in crisis, neurodivergent, disabled, or using assistive technology. We want the site to be calm, clear, and usable for as many people as possible.
Standards We Aim For
We aim to make this website conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
Where we cannot fully meet this standard (for example, due to third-party tools), we will do our best to provide a reasonable alternative.
Accessibility Features
We design the site to support:
- Clear headings and structure for screen readers and keyboard users
- Keyboard navigation (including visible focus states)
- Readable text with good spacing
- Accessible link styles (underlined, with clear focus)
- Reduced motion support where your device/browser requests it
Known Limitations
We work to keep the site accessible, but some areas may not be perfect. For example:
- Some embedded third-party content (videos, widgets, forms) may have accessibility limitations outside our control
- Older content may not always meet newer accessibility expectations
If you find a problem, please tell us. We take this seriously and will prioritise fixes that improve access.

If you have difficulty using any part of this website, or you need information in a different format, please contact us. Tell us:
- Which page you were on
- What you were trying to do
- What device or assistive technology you were using (if you know)
If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, please use the emergency information on our site or contact local emergency services.
Enforcement and Complaints
If you contact us about an accessibility issue and you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise a concern with the UK Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
